Abstract

The cultural diversity of the student population within K-12 classrooms has become ever-changing, but the cultural diversity of the teacher population within those classrooms has remianed relatively stagnant. The purpose of this article was to outline the Cross-Cultural Simulation used the pre-service teacher candidates and to provide supporting evidence of its impact and effect on the pre-service teacher candidates. This study used a mixed methods approach with journal entries and inventories to determine the impact and effectiveness of the cross-cultural simulation. The results indicated that the participants felt the simulation allowed them to apply the classroom content within a direct learning experience.
